
Dr. Jenny Taylor has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area her entire life. She graduated from California State University at Hayward in 1989 with a Bachelors degree in Marine biology and then UCDavis school of Veterinary medicine in 1995. She worked as an ER and housecall veterinarian for 5 years while she continued her training in complementary modalities including acupuncture, homeopathy and herbal therapies. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and has completed Doctor Richard Pitcairn’s Professional Course in Veterinary Homeopathy. She has received advanced training in both homeopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is currently working towards certification through the American Veterinary Homeopathic society. Dr. Taylor Founded Creature Comfort Holistic Veterinary Center in Oakland, California, one of the first complementary veterinary clinics in the Bay Area offering a variety of holistic modalities such as acupuncture, homeopathy, Chinese and Western herbal therapies and chiropractic care in addition to traditional western veterinary medicine. She lectures regularly at local animal shelters and kennel clubs and has presented seminars to students in veterinary acupuncture and homeopathy at UCDavis and other institutions. She is featured on the "Dogs for Dummies" DVD, hosting a series on basic canine care and information. She lives in Oakland, California with her Jack Russell "Terrorist" Molly and her incredibly tolerant kitties Suzie and River.
Dr. Holiday graduated from UC Berkeley in 1976 with a degree in immunology/bacteriology. She went on to obtain a teaching credential and taught high school biology and French for six years before attending Palmer College of Chiropractic. She has had a thriving chiropractic practice for over twenty years, currently in Albany, California. Her lifelong interest in and love of animals led her to become nationally certified in animal chiropractic over four years ago and she is now employed at three small animal veterinary clinics in the Bay Area that specialize in alternative veterinary care. She also travels to local stables for work with horses. She enjoys collaborating with other practitioners to offer complete holistic care for animals. In addition to traditional chiropractic techniques, she specializes in craniosacral and trigger point therapies which have proven to been extremely effective in treating animals. She is delighted to join the incredible team of doctors Creature Comfort Holistic Veterinary Center and looks forward to meeting one and all.
Dr. Kirsten Williams was born in Oakland and grew up in the Bay Area. She graduated from UCDavis with a B.S.in Zoology in 1988 and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Veterinary School at UCDavis in 1992. Dr.Williams works at Bishop Ranch in San Ramone one day a week, and she works at Creature Comfort 3 days a week. After five years in private practice, Dr. Williams was frustrated by the failures of allopathic medicine to treat many chronic conditions. She sought alternative therapy training to augument her traditional veterinary skills. She became certified in veterinary acupuncture with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 1998, She took the Chinese herbal course five years later. Dr. Williams has also had additional training in prolotherapy for pets. She currently lives in Oakland with her husband, two children ,a cat, a dog and a snake.
Dr. Christie Johnson was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Southern California. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor’s in Physics in 1992. After spending a year working at the Humane Society of Utah, she entered UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from UC Davis in 1997. Since then she has worked as a veterinarian in the SF Bay Area. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and is a certified Veterinary Herbalist through the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine and the China National Society of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Christie Johnson loved joining Creature Comfort Holistic Veterinary Center in April of 2007. She lives in Oakland with her shelter poodle, Zelda, and they both enjoy walks at Lake Merritt.
Dr. Murray is a graduate of the three-year program at Pacific Academy of Homeopathy. She is a Certified Classical Homeopath as awarded by the Council for Homeopathic Certification, and is a registered member of the North American Society of Homeopaths. She interned at Creature Comfort for three years before beginning to practice here in 2005. Beth pioneered a homeopathy program at the Oakland Zoo and has a practice for people at Back to Life Wellness Center in Alameda. She is very interested in the connections between people and their animals, and often finds that the remedy reveals itself in these interactions.
