Welcome to Creature Comfort Holistic Veterinary Center!

At Creature Comfort Holistic Veterinary Center we practice Integrative Veterinary medicine, a blend of holistic and conventional approaches to diagnosis and treatment. This means we use ALL the tools available in both Western and Holistic therapies to provide complete care for your pet. All our doctors are licensed veterinarians of traditional veterinary schools who have also obtained advanced training in holistic medicine to provide a uniquely comprehensive integrative approach to healing.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture works by stimulating the Qi (pronounced "chee") or energy of the body to heal and rebalance itself. Acupuncture is one of the safest therapies available, using tiny metal needles inserted into specific points along acupuncture meridians or lines to stimulate the healing process. Acupuncture surprisingly is not painful for most animals. The needles are gently inserted into specific points and left in from 5-20 minutes while you and your pet relax in a quiet room. Most pets relax soon after the needles are placed and often fall asleep during these treatments! A positive response often is noticed within the first 2-6 treatments or sooner depending on the conditions being treated.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a therapeutic method developed by Dr. Samuel Hahneman 200 years ago that uses naturally occurring substances in micro doses to stimulate the body's natural healing defenses. Homeopathy uses infinitesimal amounts of organic substances (called Homeopathic Remedies) that in larger doses would cause illness and symptoms in a healthy pet, but in tiny doses cures similar symptoms in sick patients. This is called the Law of Similars, which is familiar to us in the idea of vaccines, where small doses of virus exposure helps the body fend off more serious illness. Our doctors have been trained by Dr. Richard Pitcairn, the most renowned veterinary homeopath in the country.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care has been in use for many centuries.  Writings from China and Greece from as early at 2700 B.C. mention spinal manipulation to ease lower back pain, and Hippocrates also published texts describing the importance of chiropractic care.

Daniel David Palmer is the founder of the modern Chiropractic professional and began the Palmer School of Chiropractic 1897.  The American Veterinary Chiropractic Association was founded in 1989 by a group of veterinarians and chiropractors interested in furthering the profession of animal chiropractics.  The Animal Chiropractic Certification Commission of the AVCA also conducts a professional certification program.
