At Creature Comfort we use a class 4 laser known as the K-Laser. Light from the K-Laser penetrates deeply into the tissue and provides energy that stimulates cellular respiration to promote healing. This deep penetration into the tissue also allows for treatment of large joints such as the hips, back, and the shoulders. Additionally, K-Laser therapy impacts nerves directly, reducing the transmission of pain signals to the central nervous system. The net result is increased rate of healing, increased blood flow, and decreased pain for your pet.

This therapy is free from any side effects, and produces a mild soothing heat over the treatment area. Your pet does not need to have their hair clipped and sedation is not needed for most sites. Laser therapy can be combined with other forms of treatment including, acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, massage, oral and injectable medications and can be used directly following surgery.

After the initial consultation with one of our veterinarians to plan therapy, treatments are completed by our staff of laser certified technicians. Depending on the size of the area being treated, treatments typically take 2-8 minutes per site. Most pets achieve the best results from K-Laser therapy when the first 1-3 sessions are scheduled within a week of treatment.

Class 4 laser therapies are cumulative in nature and therefore, as your pet gradually sees improvement, sessions are reduced in frequency, usually one session every 2-4 weeks. In these cases, we offer discounted therapeutic laser packages of 4, 6, 8, and 10 sessions.
