Why does Creature Comfort require 60 minutes for the first examination?

At the majority of veterinary clinics you will find that most appointments last around 30 minutes. Our first examination requires the 60 minutes because we look at your pet as a whole including diet, home life, medical history, and so on.  Our appointments require more communication between our Doctors and clients. It is important to us to work as a team with the owner, as we feel the owner's insight is just as important!

What if I have more than one pet?

No problem, we would love to meet all of your fur-babies! In most cases, if your other pet is healthy and you are looking to get him/her established with our veterinarians then we can schedule him/her for a healthy pet intake which is a 30 minute appointment.

What is your philosophy on vaccines?

At Creature Comfort we look at every pet as an individual. Our doctors take several factors into consideration when determining what vaccines (if any) they feel would be beneficial for your pet. Some of these factors include your pet's lifestyle, their medical history, and much more. To learn more about our approach to vaccines click here.

How does Creature Comfort feel about raw food diets?

At Creature Comfort, many pets benefit from raw food diets if they are well balanced and formulated for their special needs. However some pets find raw food diets to be too rich, and do better with a cooked home prepared diet instead. We realize that every pet is different, and urge you to speak with your veterinarian before changing your pet's diet.

How many acupuncture treatments will it take for my pet to feel better?

Normally we suggest starting with a series of 6 treatments, 1-2 weeks apart. At the end of the series, given that your pet is doing better, then our veterinarians will have a better idea of the frequency from then on. For chronic issues such as arthritis, epilepsy, spinal issues, degenerative myopathy, and cancer, these require longer term treatments in order to see sustained results.
